L.d. - Mentor I know that it is important to find a good mentor. What should one do who does not find one with in your city?
Is there anyone interested in being a LD (Long Distance) Mentor.
I found three breeders in San Antonio, that I plan to visit with this weekend, I already had to scratch one off my list because she said this is her first litter. I am looking for someone with experience, someone who can guide me and answer any question that arise, someone who know keeps in touch with their offspring so that you know exactly what you are producing.
In your Opinion becasue I know I have read on this forum, should your "Breeding STock" be of Champion Blood Line? What if they meet the standard, in your opinion are they not quality? Not worth breeding?
For anyone who would like to answer private please do so. I am very seriouse in researching for the next 2 years. I would like to gain as much information as possible along with finding a reputable breeder and mentor, whether it be locally or via emails and phone calls along with hopefully an occasional visit.
I did try to look up shows in the area but didn't find any, I plan to continue to search so that I can go see "what a true specimen of the breed" should look like.
Thanks for any advice.
If you interested in looking at pictures of My Boy here he is: His Name is
Sir Winston Hunter, call name Hunter he is AKC about 5 lbs 14 oz and right at 51 weeks of age.
PS: I need advice on trimming the hair around his ears also...LOL
The only flaw I can see is I think his ears may be to spread apart, other then that I think he has a wonderful loving temperment, very obediant, straight bite, although I need to check for adult teeth coming in (I din't know about the possibility of them growing along side a baby tooth). I plan to groom him this weekend and take some pics of him standing on the table to see how his carrage is and how his tail stands. I so loved CJ's webpage..LOL it really got me thinking.
OK enough on to the pictures... LOL
The first was taken last night so you could see his face.
The second is of him laying down about a week or so ago and
The third is a baby pic.
The fourth is another baby picture |
