Default For those looking to feed home cooked here is a recipe I got from North Shore.

Chicken ?N Veg Healthy Pet Meal
Here's a tasty one-pot meal that can be made for your dog or cat once a week. Infinite variations are possible, so feel free to experiment based on your pet's individual tastes.

Ingredients:

1 whole chicken, cut up or 6-leg family pack
6 cups water
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups quick cooking rolled oats, (or 2 1/2 cups brown rice)
1 lb fresh or frozen mixed vegetables (a combination of green vegetables peas, carrots, corn is great)
Optional for health:

1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/2 cup brewer's yeast
Cooking Directions
Place chicken in large, heavy-bottomed pot. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Simmer 25 minutes or until meat is easy to separate from bone. Remove chicken and set aside, saving chicken broth in pot.

In a blender, cover vegetables with hot chicken stock and blend briefly to lightly chop up. Semi-pureed is fine.

Add veggies and liquid back into the pot.

Add oats and boil 10 minutes (40 minutes for rice), stirring occasionally to keep bottom from sticking.

Meanwhile, carefully pull out all bones from chicken and chop or shred meat finely. Add chicken to oatmeal mixture and stir in brewer's yeast and parsley.

Allow to cool before serving. Portion out in individual Ziploc packets. Store in refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer.

Tasty Variations for Cats (or dogs!)

Sprinkle with 1 tsp brewer's yeast or powdered kelp just before serving
Add a spoonful or two of canned tuna, or leftover (cooked or raw) fish
Add 1/2 cooked egg
Tasty Variations for Dogs

Add a grated, raw carrot to the meal just before serving
Add 1/4 cup cottage cheese or other mild, grated cheese
Add 1 tsp olive oil
Add 1/4 cup leftover cooked meats
