Mine are NEVER left alone, even though my backyard is about 1/3 of an acre and completely fenced in, I refuse to risk it! I don't even let them off of their leashes in my backyard when I'm with them. I always think about what if they run up to a bush and there is a snake there and it bites them or what if something has dug some kind of hole and they are running back there and one of their legs falls in it, or what if they fall in the underground pool

The only place I let them go unleashed "outside" is my patio out back. It is all screened in and the top has a huge sunroof so the sun can shine right in and they actually have their own doggy playground in there with little hoops and things they can climb through, a little area full of those beany pillows that they can jump in and and a little swimming pool that I fill up for them for when it's hot. They LOVE going out there and it is 100% safe

and 99% of the time when they are out there I'm out there too just because it is SO much fun to watch them play!
