You could do a baby gate at the door or buy one of those (arrrg, I can't remember what they are called.) I ran accross them on Ebay. It is a little unit that you can set for a certain distance from I think 2 feet to 20 feet and it makes a sound that only the dogs can hear in that radius and they won't go there. I thought about getting one to put near our door to train them to stay away from the door.
