I'd check to see if you can get a collar for a cat or very small dog with the system.

It does keep my baby sisters dogs in the yard now. But hers are largrer dogs. At one point, me and her were putting concrete in every hole they dug to get out of....once a day! One did the digging, then the other 2 would follow her. So I do understand the need of keeping them at home, when nothing else works.

The system she has, came with flags. She set the flags up a few feet in from the system itself. Also when they start getting too close, it will beep. Her dogs learned to back up fast when they heard the beep, and stay behind the flags. They haven't been out of the yard since she got the system. They don't even look like they are trying to get out of the yard. It only takes a few times of getting shocked and they learn.

Good luck with whatever you do. I know the problems my baby sis had for months, so I do understand the need for something like that.
