shock collars! Okay, now I used the search button and looked at everyone's opinions on shock collars, but please listen to my problem.
We live in a normal subdivision with many different dogs (big outside dogs) and light traffic. On a couple of occasions Irie has gotten out of the door with no leash on and she just takes off like a bolt of lightning. It is sooooo hard to catch her. My wife and I both chasing her takes a good 5 minutes to get her. On one occasion a car was coming down the road so I had to jump in the street to stop the car incase she decided to go into the street at the wrong time and just yesterday she took off and got waaaayyy to close to a BIG dog. He was behind the fence but she kept going over to it and barking, making the dog real mad. There was a small hole in the fence I was terrified that she was going to slip under and be a snack to the BIG dog.
Please, please please help me out. My yorkie has such a strong terrier personality and she doesn't listen to us if she doesn't want to. Our little baby is around 8 months old.
I know most everyone is against the collars but I would rather someone say I was cruel than have my dog killed by another dog or ran over. I am open for any and all suggestions.
Thanks Everyone
