The only reason I would say no (since I don't know much about the nutritional value of people food for dogs) is because of the begging issue. Once you start feeding your dog from your plate, the begging is only going to get worse. I've told this story before but..... when Tatum was about a year old we had a birthday dinner for my husband and my dad let Tatum taste a little bit of cherry pie filling from his finger. You know that toot would beg from my dad (and ONLY from him) every time he came over after that. The rest of the family are on strict orders to never feed Tatum people food because of this issue and we finally broke Tatum of the habit with my dad.
I know there are people that feed their dogs home-cooked food but I'll stick with a nutritious dog food with Tatum. If you do decide to cook for your dog, be sure to get all the info you can about it - there are many people on here that can steer you in the right direction.
