The little crate is very nice. My grand daughter has that one for her French Bulldog. Her dog isn't a chewer but I imagine it could be chewed. I have a metal crate for my two. As for the x-pen, I got one 36 inches high and put my 2 in it. When I came home, my 8 month old 1 was running around the kitchen. My son lets them out when he is home so I thought he left her out because he couldn't catch her. We came to find out she climbs the bars and jumps over. So we had to get a bigger crate.
