Xena is almost 6 months old and she cannot climb the stairs in our house. I have tried to coax her just to see if she could but as soon as she accidentally got up on the first stair she was terrified and jumped down. Now she won't even try. The thing is, I don't want her to be able to climb them - I prefer she stay down stairs. She is supposed to be about 4 lbs (but you never know).

My granddaughter's little Yorkie, Sammy, has been going up and down stairs since she was about 9 weeks old. She's 11 weeks old now and doing great. She weighs about 2.5 pounds. They have doggie steps for her to get up onto the couch or bed, which she will use, but she goes up and down the front porch steps without even a moment's hesitation. They are big concrete steps. They were very surprised that she didn't bother about them at all and just took off. They watch her very closely to be sure she doesn't fall. These little guys are such cuties and think they're much bigger than they are!
