My two Bichons do this now and then, too. Could be anal glands need to be expressed or worms, but I think it's usually just because it feels good! Mine get their anal glands expressed (only if needed) by the groomer every 4 weeks and they get checked for worms regularly, so I don't think it's a consideration with them. They both do this now and then and I think it's just because it feels good, like some people scratch their nose.
