If his nails need cut then you should cut them, you don't want to put it off. The longer he goes without his nails cut on a regular basis, the longer his nails will grow, the longer the quick will grow making it harder to cut the nails shorter and it also causes alot of discomfort and pain if the nails are allowed to get too long. Also it is best that he gets use to you cutting his nails from an early age. At his age he shoulden't need very much of his nail cut off, just the tips if that. As long as you don't cut the quick, it won't be painful to him at all. It is just like us cutting our fingernails.
