I alternate between Merricks and Canidae. The only problem I had with Merricks was the smelly poop and they went a lot more. With Canidae, I notice less poop and it doesn't smell. I also notice shinier coat with Canidae.
If your dogs didn't like one variety of Canidae, you could always try another. I go back and forth between All Life Stages and Lamb/Brown Rice. I noticed Snickers has less runny eyes on the Lamb/Rice.
Both Merricks and Canidae are excellent foods.
