So glad you chose a Yorkie for your first dog, you will be so completely happy you did! As for your question about adult/puppy - I recently brought home a Yorkie pup, Mango. I have an adult, Spanky already. I have to say, that after 7 weeks of absolute joy in watching this little baby grow, play, do her demented little puppy antics, I would not have missed it for the world!!! My husband says she was worth every penny - no amount of money could have provided the hilarious entertainment we have had with our little Mango.
Also, because I could spend the time, being a stay at home Mom, I could devote the energy to toilet training her the way I wanted. After 6 weeks, I would say she was 90% "potty Safe", in that I could let her roam around the house, and be confident she would go out through her little doggie door, into the dog run. She has not had an accident in the house for over 2 weeks now, my sweet little angel.
Puppyhood brings such unbelievable joy to the Yorkie Mommy, watching every one of the adorable stages they go through.
