Allergies to cats are generally due to the protien in their saliva. They lick themselves all the time, then when that protien dries it breaks off into billions of microscopic bits and flys thru the air that we breath causing sneezing and such. Maybe it's the same with dogs who lick themselves a lot.
If you brush the dog or cat each day, and bathe regularly, then it will cut down on the allergies.
