Hi!!
We pottied COMPLETELY outside also!! It was cold in January when we got him, but we still went outside every 1/2 hour, and then he would have free reign in our kitchen area for the first month, and once the accidents were getting less and less we let him in our family area too. It took about 4 days for him to realize that all he had to do was potty and then he could get back in the warm house.

My lil guy slept from about 9:30 until 5am for the first few weeks, but then he realized he didn't HAVE to get up when my hubby got up for work and now he sleeps until the kids get up at 7. And on weekends he'll sleep until we all get up at 8............going to bed at 9 pm. My lil guy was finally potty trained ONE WEEK before he turned 4 months, but CONSISTENCY is the KEY!!!! He is now 4.5 months old, and he goes to the door and if we aren't watching, he will nudge the bells we have on the door........but I am usually STILL watching very closely. He can now make it 45 min. to an hour in the house without going out. We worked VERY HARD at the potty training and we didn't relax even ONCE, because I figured, if we work REALLY HARD at it for a few months (we got him at 2 months....8 wks)it would pay off, and it has!!!!!

GOOD LUCK, it is a LOT of work!!! But work hard now and get it over with, or be casual about it and not consistant now and spend the NEXT YEAR having accidents and frustration............and STILL a NOT POTTY TRAINED DOG.
