Just outside of Austin, we have a restaurant that has an outdoor music stage/venue. Every Thurs/Fri/Sat they have a live band and you are right, the kids have a ball dancing up a storm!! They do serve alcohol as it is a restaurant - but it is mostly families or just couples sitting around watching the band. This probably isn't what you are talking about, a lounge is not a restaurant - but I just thought I would say that having a place to go as a family where there is music and the kids (and adults) can dance is a big hit here in Austin.
