Default Verifying a Yorkie's Age

Ok, we just bought a yorkie yesterday from a some-what local breeder. He sold us a "4-month" old yorkie that was described as being unusually bigger for his stock and age. He weighs about 4 lbs, stands at 9 inches, and extends at 18-20 inches from tail to head. But after having him overnight we became skeptical that he is just 4-months old. He is well-behaved and seems to follow rudimentary orders (e.g., sit) and is potty-trained (not really sure about this tho). So yeah, i guess my question is: what are the physical characteristics that distinguishes a puppy from a mature yorkie, given that this is an atypical case b/c of the "puppy's" relatively larger size. Teeth size? Coat quality? Temperament? etc. etc...

Thanks.

ps. our new dog's name is "Hero"
