Maddie-Rudy-Mom , what kind of tarp do you put under the pen?
I have an 8 panel kids enclosure that I can break down into just 4 which would be about a 4x4 square. I keep it set up in my kitchen all the time instead of crating Mia. I think this would work for hotels. When we're gone from home she sleeps in her pen and like you said, doesn't even use the potty. She has made is 6 hours. Definitely need to put something rip proof/waterproof underneath.
Between now and Mothers day she will be in hotel here, OK city, Colorado Springs, Phoenix, Houston, Denver and then Houston for a week. The other weekends are flying trips and my hubby and daughter will be left at home with her. We definitely need to work out the hotel situation.
