Mine are left alone but never for more than about 4 hours. I think if they are never left alone, you're asking for trouble down the road. What happens if you have to go somewhere and they can't go? What if there is an emergency and you HAVE to leave them behind?

Whoever you find to take care of them then will have a heck of a time and the dog will have an even worse time.

I'm off work for at least 6 weeks cause of surgery and my dogs and I love being together all the time. I know it will be a bit hard for all of us to get back to our normal schedule, but that's life.

Sometimes I think they enjoy being alone so they can just rest instead of following us around all the time...
