okay this is the situation. I bought my house back in November and really never knew who my neighbors were...well my 10 yr old has become friends with the little boy next door. So he was playing in my yard with my son and my son tells me they have a yorkie and that she was real tiny. Well you knowme I had to ask the little boy if I could see her and we said yes. So I sais bring her over so she can meet mine and he said well let me wash her up because she is dirty (red flag) I said don't worry about that mine have been outside playing and they need a bath too. So he brought her over. OMG my babies look like giants next to her. I think she was 2 lbs at the max and 7 yrs old.

okay time to get to the story.....and what made me mad. I picked her up and her nails were so long that they were curling against her paw pads, she had matts under her paw pads, when she breathes or gets excited she makes a wierd noise like she has asthma...could it be collapsing treachea? She was so dirty and had this strong perfume smell to her. So you all know what I had to do.....I cut her nails, trimmed her paws and gave her a bath. Oh and when I was bathing her her hair was just falling out and she had so much gook in between her eyes. So i got her a pretty and pu a bow in her hair and took her next door to her mommy. SO this is my first time meeting this lady and I was very nice about the questions but one answer made me wanna just take this baby away from her. I asked is she's ever taken her to the vet for her breathing problem and she responded oh yeah I took her once to a vet and they wanted to put her on medication and I just didn't have the time...which is really the money but she didn't want to say that. Un-freakin believable!!! And to top it off she feeds her ALPO...this little girl is in desperate need of getting her mouth cleaned.

So here is when I need everyones help......I told the lady to bring her to me so I can cut her nails and all when ever she needed but I really want to rescue this baby. Should I wait a few months and get to know the lady and then smooth talk her into sellng her to me? It is obvious that she doesn't have the money to care for her so even if I educated her she wouldn't get the care.

What do all you think? Am I over reacting?
