Phew, BUT they are dogs and will always be dogs (read opportunists here). They don't come with remote controls, so don't be so hard on yourselves. The thought of never leaving them alone, or only outside on a leash isn't any dogs idea of "life". You've had a big fright, but don't keep the imprisoned by your side or they'll end up so dependent on you they will suffer seperation issues. Terriers are good at finding way of escaping. My little yorkie cross escaped over our fence by jumping onto the compost bin and then vaulting over the neighbours fence to sort out their cat!! He has an amazing ability to leap - leaves other dog owners stunned.
You obviously love theses little doggies so already you're on the right track!! |
