I don't know, I guess I feel you can become overprotective with your pets and children. I never wanted to become either one. My fenced yard is perfectly safe. My Belgian Malinois is Schuzthund trained and can take any grown man down in the bite suit. I feel completely confident that we are all safe with him around. With all the noise and commotion coming from out backyard I honestly can't see a hawk thinking "there is lunch if I can just get past all those big animals". My neighbor next door lets his chickens run free. He has lived here most of his life and has never lost a chicken to the hawks. He also owns 5 big dogs, goats, horses (I guess a mini zoo just like I have). LOL
