But the poison entered into the US through the wheat gluten.
It doesn't mean all shipments of wheat gluten is bad.

We have chemicals for use as cleaners/pesticides that they don't have. And vice versa. I fail to see the connection of how this is another reason to not buy products from China, just because it is a chemical that isn't allowed in the US.

If China doesn't have the controls we have...why didn't our US standards check the wheat gluten? If our standards were so great, we would've caught it.
I'm guessing that maybe the wheat gluten wasn't treated or checked as closely since it wasn't for "human" consumption but it is just a guess. I hope this is a wake up call for the inspectors!! Maybe this will alert the ones that are responsible for this to start checking everything out and quite worrying about just the bottom line.
