Oh, one thing I did learn (late in the game) was to have your puppy WALK to the door himself. If you carry him outside he won't realize that the DOOR is the place to go.

Ah thanks for that tip! I always carry mine to the door! I will try that. My big dog rings a bell we have hung on the door when he has to potty. But he potty trained in ONE DAY when he was just 8 weeks old. I have found my 2 small ones have been a lot more challenging. My 1st Yorkie ever...a little male NEVER EVER potty trained. No matter what I did. I could have walked him for 1 hour and he would come right back inside and take a poop. He would not go on pads either. |
