As for being 'cruel' I guess it depends. In my own opinion (and others may disagree), I don't think dog shoes for "looks" are necessary. Maybe a cute set of bunny slippers to be used for a photo session, but not for day to day use. However, booties that will protect their feet in the winter is a good idea. I'll probably get them for Tia so she doesn't cut her pads on ice, and I dont' want that salt stuff to get caught in her feet and for her to lick them after (I think the stuff is toxic, if not just 'bad' for them).
