Question I want to start feeding raw...

My boy is eating Royal Canin but I just read an article here that makes kibble sound like a death sentence. I'm mainly concerned with his periodontal health (because we all know tooth disease can lead to heart disease in our small furbabies) and longevity (I want this little guy around as long as possible!!). Apparently raw-feed dogs and cats live twice as long as kibble-fed.

So, how do I get started? I suppose I'll leave the kibble down until he doesn't want it anymore to make the transition easier... but I can barely cook food for humans, so hopefully it's not all that complicated. I read about a subscription to a magazine, does that have a lot of recipes? Or would I be better off finding a good recipe book? Thanks
