It's almost unheard of here to remove dew-claws now, no matter who you get a puppy from....any kind of breeder. The law here is no tail-docking or you can be done for cruelty, even if a vet did it - it is illegal
....it's a shame when you see older dogs who have had this done, and all the younger dogs have a lovely long flowing tail, wagging profusely.
I am lucky to never have had a problem with even the free dew-claws on my wee dogs.....I would hate to have to get them taken off....I would feel guilty even if they were anaesthnetised.....how do you spell that word, lol
