it is possible for them to choke on anything really. if you have an overzealous chewer then they might want to break off and eat bigger pieces then they can handle. A month ago we had a boston terrier in hospital that actually swallowed an entire bully stick!!! that thing went straight down his throat and i have no idea how he managed that.

bully sticks, flossies, and edible nylabones i think are safer because instead of breaking off pieces then dissolve as they chew i think. therefore they can only really choke on them when they get them down to the end and you don't notice it before it gets too small.

Also, no chewy should be given when you can't monitor them IMO.
