We have gone on 3 cross country trips with Keeley and countless day trips.

We have found that having a car seat to strap him into has helped SO MUCH! He can't get into anything and we don't have to worry about him. Especially since it is going to be only you two you may want to think about getting one, so you don't have to worry about watching him while driving.

We take water, food and treats. And stop for him (and us) to stretch our legs every few hours.

In his car seat we put a blanket he loves and a few stuffed animals to snuggle up to.

*Also, if you do get a seat-- try and get him used to it by driving around town so when you do go he'll already know what the seat is all about.
