I have had two yorkies since my son was 11 months old. I think each situation needs to be evaluated on a case by case basis. I think my son has taught the dogs to be patient and tolerant, and the dogs have taught my son how to be gentle. I think they need to be supervised at all times, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!
