Default Sensitive stomach j- Is it a defect?

My little 3 yr old yorkie mix (12 lbs) seems to have a sensitive stomach. He is fine with his dog food and treats but once in awhile he gets a bite of something we are eating. We know not to give him beef and pork or anything rich or he will get up sick during the night with runs and tummy rumbling. He gets very little people food and when he does, it's only a taste of plain baked/boiled/ broiled (unseasoned) chicken or something like that, which he handles well.

I was just wondering if anyone else has a dog with a sensitive stomach. Is it common with Yorkies? or is it a defect (bad breeding)? I have been wondering about this for a long time. I have never had a dog before with this problem.
