Hi, welcome! I am new here too! I just took my Mickey home a few days ago. He is just under 4 lbs, and I am used to a 40 lb dog, so I am going through the transition from a med dog, to a small dog right now! I have owned two siberian huskies in the past, one still lives at my parents house.
Since I have only owned Mickey for a few days I havent discovered all of the differences yet. I think that Mickey is much more affectionate than my larger dogs- he is a true lap dog! He loves being held, and just hanging out on my lap my other dogs would freak (even at the puppy age!) when they were being held.
Definitely more yappy... My huskies were vocal, but NEVER barked! Mickey is a cry baby, and his whines quickly turn to barks if you ignore him. He 's a loud one! It's taking a lot to ignore him, and hope that he gets over it!
Also, the exercise requirement- smaller dogs dont require near as much exercise as bigger ones!
I will say that one of the reasons I chose a Yorkie is because they do tend to have a "big dog" personality! Since I am in an apartment now, and I can't ahve a big dog, I think a Yorkie is perfect for me! I am very happy with him!
Whatever you decide, good luck!
