First your 4 months yorkie sound like all my yorkies. Any confinement without a top is only a suggestion by me to stay inside. None of them listen to me and they either climb or jump out. My solution is that I keep them in metal crates with a top so they can't climb or jump out.

My yorkies love to play "swap food" or "I'm finished my food, now I'm going to eat yours" all the time. My solution is I feed them in their individual crate or away from each other(literally- I feed in different rooms with door closed).

Potty training is a hard one. Don't get frustrated. Most of us went through the same thing. I know you probably know what to do since you already have a dog. It might just be that he need you to keep an better eye on him or that it might take more time for him to understand. Don't give up and sooner or later, he will learn.
