Little did I know this to be true.

My female Yorkie is in heat presently and I have 2 other neutered males (different breed) inside dogs with her....I have to continually monitor them until she's out of heat. You'd think when a male dog looses his testicles (they shrink away after neutering) they'd completely forget about this mating ritual. My Vet also said, if they have ever bred before and even though neutered, they will not ever forget. Just my luck!

Just thought I'd pass the word. One thing I did think of .....but have not tried it on my males -- when I had horses years ago, I'd place a little bit of Vicks Salve on the nostriles of the males. They couldn't smell a mare in heat then. Worked well for horse shows and parades. Dogs on the other hand would probably continually lick at their noses trying to remove the salve -- and I'm sure it would not be good for their health.
Thanks for the interesting info! Scout never bred before...I guess he just figured out how to do it..hehe. It's getting better and keeping Pippa in the bloomers helps. He gets tired of trying.
