I'm starting a new thread. With all of this talk about recalled pet food two things have become apparent, the first being that I was grossly misled by my breeder and vet about dog food choices and the second is that only canned and pouched food is involved in this recall because no dry dog food was manufactured either in the same plant or by menufoods in general, so dry is safe, atleast that's what i'm understanding. I had a shih-tzu/pomeranian dog for 16 1/2 years, may he rest in peace, in 1989 we started him on Eukanuba and after a few years switched to Iams. When we got our Yorkie around Christmas the breeder sent us home with Eukanuba, we couldn't find it around here so we started Vinnie on Iams Smart Puppy for toy breeds. I live in a small town with limited options for finding good dog food. My sister came home from California all about Nutro. The nearest PetSmart is an hour away, I am willing to drive there if that's the only place I can find proper pet food for my precious pooch. My question is what is the best food for my Yorkie?
