1. What all do I need for my little Maddy to be happy when she gives birth?
Your Maddy is not going to be happy when she give birth? She's going to be in pain?
2. What do I need for the little guys when there born.
If you have a breeder friendly vet, ask him what supplies you're gonna need on hand to assist. Buy this book by Terry Schumsky 'How to buy and raise a healthy dog....plenty of stuff on whelping supplies...You can also do a google search on whelping supplies
3. Will the just come natural what if she has problems?
Each female is different. Some will deliver naturally, but you will have to assist. Others may require medical assistance. Familirize yourself with the problem signs.
4. Do I need to keep Tommy away from Maddy? Once she delivers, you need to keep her and the puppies warm and in quiet part of the house. No other dogs. She'll be anxious and protective. Do everything you can to keep her calm and content.
5. When do I reg. the litter? I usually wait for 2 weeks to make sure all is well and puppies are healthy
6.I think I am going to worry like crazy.....Yes, you are, but that's normal.
Another google search is Debbie Jensen.
A week before she is due, begin to confine your female to the area where she will be whelping. She needs to get comfortable, as that is going to be her home until puppies are weaned. Females that are allowed to roam, will not get down to business when it comes to nursing & caring for the puppies. and you don't want her to have her puppies all over the house.
Oh! begin increasing her food supply now and continue larger food supply until weaning time......no calcium supplements, that comes after puppies are born. You want her healthy and able to produce milk.
I would love to take in all you can give me and I hope so far I don't sound like a bad breeder I love my babies so much only want the best for them and I also know the should live my home until they are around 12 weeks..: Not around 12 weeks, 12 weeks or older.
