[QUOTE=wnalegria;1012386]Southwest does not allow animals unless they are a service animal. A seeing eye dog or a therapy dog would fit in this class. If you state this is a therapy dog to help you for anxiety reasons they require a letter from a psychiatrist not a general MD.
My person blew it with the airline because she was able to fly from her home to Indianapolis with out a dog. The letter this person had stated the dog was flying to help with her anxiety. The airline made the right call- how could you fly in to Indy and not need the dog but need it to fly home. I also found out that this was a free ticket the person was using. IMO the therapy dog business was just to get the dog on the plane and to not have to pay for it.
I do know that some airlines have a fee that they charge to take the baby on as your carry on luggage.
Most things happen for a reason- Tilly as the buyer wanted the baby called
is doing well and happy to be home. I have placed her on the for sale page.
I can sleep tonight and I do not feel guilty about my actions in this situation.
I informed the other party that I was charging for my gas mileage- 70 miles round trip at what the IRS allows-44.5 cents per mile. 3.00 for the parking-
42.00 for the office visit at the vet and 25.00 Health certificate. 15.00 for the worming check and 15.00 for the worming. Puppy was free of worms but you still have to check and deworm.
I just heard back from the other party and she does not feel she should have to pay for the worming or the medication. I am afraid that if push comes to shove I just might tell her she is going to eat the whole $200.00.
Live and learn by my mistakes. Just when I think I have seen it all along comes this. If I don't laugh I will cry. I guess I have to see the humor in all this.
Off topic but I do have to brag- My stud that I am showing is going to be featured in a National magazine. No not a animal. My 17 year old son.
He is a junior this year in high school and is being recruited by over 30 different colleges for football. The end of this month he is having his picture taken and having a interview done by ESPN. There will be a article about him and other midwest recruits and the group picture will be the magazine cover.
This is my bright spot and a good reason for me to not have a house full of dogs. My health is not the greatest and I want to be able to enjoy Nick's senior year of high school and be able to watch him every weekend and then play college football. This recruiting business is like taking a special out every week end and fighting for BOB and Group and Best in Show. This is major money when it can cost up 30 to 40 thousand dollars a year at some of these schools like Notre Dame, Duke and the Ivy shools. We are trying to get a full ride scholarship- and things look very bright for his future.[/QUOTE
Very cool about your son. I hope everything works out for the best! |
