You are right, .but there have been switches and forging of records, even whelping dates marked incorrectly so that those breeders can sell them off as small ones for bigger prices....or there are those puppy millers that breed and then advertise a puppy, so if you are a potential new family, you weren't there to witness the breeding. Say the breeder is the owner of the stud and dam......I know most breeders wouldn't do these things, but they are done every day
