I don't see where she would be able to call you a 'bad' breeder.
Shame on her!
I feel you did the right thing for the puppy. I don't feel she was responsible enough to care for a puppy. I think (in my opinion) you do not owe her, her deposit back. She brought all this upon herself by not listening to your advice on airlines, health certificates, payment etc.
I also flew to get my puppy last month, She was paid in full long before I flew to get her. I also checked with the airlines numerous times to make sure everything was all set and called the breeder to make sure I had everything I needed and she had all shots to travel. I also had a carrier, food, toys, blankets, tshirts, piddle pads and all necessary paperwork (with copies)
Sounds like you would not have seen the balance owed to you.
I hope this puppy finds a caring, loving, responsible home it deserves.
I am sorry this happened to you and your getting out of breeding puppies.
