Well, I was worried about it becoming a habit in our puppy as well, but I just kept on counteracting it either yipping or saying "no". I also made sure to distract her from biting as soon as I said "no" by squeaking one of her toys and throwing it so she would run to it instead of biting. And now she has grown out of the biting thing all together. So you may not have a "biter" on your hands. It may very well go away despite your worries if you just continue to counteract it.
