We have brown spots all over our back yard from where Flash (our Basset) pees. The vet told us it was due to high amonia levels in her urine and it wasn't unusual and nothing to really worry about. Trixie and Lexi don't seem to have that effect on the grass.
I've never heard of anyone getting upset for a dog peeing on their plants though...pooping in their yard, maybe... Sounds to me like she wanted to blame her lacking green thumb on your pooches.
But in any case, if she didn't like it, you have to be respectful...the ole fart...
