I have a male and female. Max is a year older than Abbie. They have been neutered/spayed and they are the best of friends. They are SO attached to each other
. Max can handle being alone because he was an only "child" for a year before I got Abbie but she would be LOST without him. When ever they are separated she paces around looking for him. So males and females bond and can get along very well.
