I don't remember reading about that horrible thing. I'm so sorry for your loss!!

Well, I've always said that by putting a young pup in with a more settled adult, then it's trouble or a long time for the adult to adjust. Also don't be surprised if the adult male doesn't start marking the house and furniture to show the pup that it's "his" territory. I hope everything all works out.
