Ok, I'm not real sure where to post this... I have started working on a sling bag to carry my girl Summerlin in. I am using lightweight upholstery material, lining it with a softer material. On my sewing machine, I have a setting for a "stitch" that is actually three stitches in one - they look like this
----------------
----------------
---------------- only they are very much closer together. Okay, my question is this: if I sew the bag with nylon thread - my dad says it is stronger than cotton - and use that stitch - will it support a pup that will eventually be about 5 - 6 lbs? My girl is currently using a leather pocketbook that is like a sling bag - she loves it - but it is awfully hot, and it is getting pretty warm around here, in between 75 and 80^ already, and it will only get worse. I am afraid that the leather will end up being too hot for her, so I want to go ahead and get a head start. Thanks for any help that you guys can offer!
