This why so many breeders leave the AKC for "do as you please" registries...if anyone thinks these screw ups are rare, they are very mistaken..without the policing of records and DNA, it only takes about one generation for non-AKC pedigrees to become the figment of the breeders imagination...not because they are dishonest, but people make so many mistakes...and you have to trust what the stud owner or breeder of your stock tells you...
AKC pedigrees are in no 100% correct, but they are the closest to being true as you can find...and if you have any doubts, the AKC will require DNA to try and correct the situation... |
