litter born two days ago.

This is about a local show breeder (friend of a friend) Her story just goes to show you what can happen when you're not paying attention.

she didnt know the mating occured until about a week ago (sneaky little men they are)

once realized she did a vet check and xrays (4 puppies)

Destracted by overseas company arriving, she entertains her in-laws without keeping an eye on mommie. Retires for the night, wakes real early, makes coffee realizes mommie isnt around.

She goes into the whelping bed, finds mommie had whelped two puppies.

Sad to say they were dead because mommie took the cord to short and they bled out (had this birth been supervised they would have been 2 thriving little girls)

Quickly the next two puppies were born and doing well healthy little boys.

Wanted to share what happens even to a seasoned breeder! Heart ache and guilt! if only!
