I let mom set the pace. The one thing I do is put her in with them at night, to drain her. If breasts become engorged with milk, her boosums can blow out. Most of the time she's completely done with them by week 9 or 10. Then I seperate her from them at night. Most of the time, the way she stops them from nursing is by laying on her stomach....Nature is wonderful as they get older, the consistency of mom's milk changes and the pups begin to eat more solid food.
