Is the Hartz a flea and tick shampoo? That will dry skin out tremendously from what I've experienced. I have heard a lot of things about what you can and can't use, and I've decided to use whatever works best and doesn't dry Dean's skin. He's had two bathes so far and I've used Dr. Bronners liquid stuff (from natural food store) and I've used my pantene conditioner and rinsed really well. When I've groomed him I've used neutrogena shine detangler (a people product again) and I've also got a bottle of pantene conditioner + water to groom with since it would get pricey to buy for two.

I think the trick is finding a non-soap cleanser and conditioning with a deep but clean-rinsing conditioner. These guys don't need super strength cleansers anyway. A GREAT product, although a bit pricey (like $12/24 oz?) is Hylyt and it comes from the vet. It contains no soap and can be used everyday. And it smells like coconuts! Green and white bottle. They make a spray on conditioner too.

Good luck!

OH!!!! And keep in mind Dean's avatar picture was taken BEFORE he got his first good bath! Really got to get his CLEAN picture up ...
