I don't use that type (edible) because Izzy gobbled one up one day in 5 minutes
Now I buy the really hard plastic looking kind. Great for teething, and they have used the same ones since I bought them, I just put them through the dishwasher every few days or so, or more if they look dirty. They don't chew them all the time.
