Everybody around me is trying to talk me out of getting my baby and making me so nervous by telling me that it is too much responsibility, too consuming, too much work, too much this and that.

Could you please give me your honest opinion if a 25 year old full time working female can handle a Yorkie? What would be the pros and cons? How much time and how much money would a Yorkie consume? For how long could they stay on their own? Would it be too hard to train? Would it be too needy?

I will need to make up my mind soon and inform my breeder but I really need to talk to people who understands me. People around me just dont get it!

Please help me out before I lose it!

I was thinking last night about your post...You said people tell you too much time consuming, too much work? Well I agree that is a definate commitment....Having a Yorkie IS a lot of work but in return you wouldnt believe the amount of love associated with owning a Yorkie..or in my case possibly a yorkie/mix...When I first got him (he was a stray) I thought..hmm..This dog sure is sweet but he sure does want a lot of attention...and ...he wants to be with me ALL the time...hmmm..I dont know about this..etc....Well in a couple of days it didnt matter anymore. I knew in those two days that this dog was definately going to require quite a bit more attention than I was used to giving but I also realized that I never knew a sweeter animal in my LIFE!!! He loves me so much and he is SO happy to see me should I come home from work or just taking out the garbage...He sleeps right beside me and I adore him just as much as he does me. I have LOTS of other interests in my life but have pretty much always been a homebody so whatever Im doing he can do it with me. I ride a motorcycle and I can tell you that I ride less now because of him but....thats just because I would rather spend time with him than be gone all day on a ride. Seriously..and I LOVE my bike!!!lol....But I love this dog like Ive never loved a dog before..he is perfect and I mean that...He really is perfect...
So I would say that if you are willing to commit to taking care and spending time with a Yorkie of your own then you will be well-rewarded by the love they give...and its worth every minute you spend..trust me..
